K so you would give them a common denominator to start with 1/4 becomes 4/16, and 3/8 becomes 6/16. For this problem you are supposed to find the common difference so you do 6/16-5/16 which equals 1/16. And 5/16-4/16 which is 1/16. That means that the common difference is 1/16, which is answer A on your list :)
