a person is 50% short of his goal for the week,His goal is to earn $680. For each cd he sells he earns $34...........how many cds does he need to sell to meet his goal?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, take 680 and divide it by 2, seeing that 50% also represents a fraction of 1/2. (Or, you could multiply it by 1/2, which is basically the same thing) This leaves us with 340. Since each CD he sells nets him 34$, we would divide 340 by 34 to yield the number of cds that he'll need to reach his goal.
