If the question were (for example) y <= -3x+1 (y is less than or equal to -3*x+1) take a convenient point like (0,0) and sub into the relation. that means use x=0, y=0 in it: 0 <= ? -3*0+1 or is 0 <= 1 ? YES! to find (0,0) on the graph. that side of the line y=-3x+1 is part of the solution. Which line is y= -3x+1? slope is -3, the lines goes down and to the right. do the same for the other relation.
