OpenStudy (redprince):

how to solve these equations: 3x^2 -2y =0 -2x -3y^2 =0 and what type of these equations are; quadratic with two variables but what type of two variables!!!

OpenStudy (sburchette):

You first solve for x or y in one equation and then substitute it into the other equation. I would say it is easiest to solve for either y in the first equation or x in the second equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

substitue... solve for y in the first equation then put that expression into the second equation.... these equations are parabolas.... at most, they will have 4 solutions (intersections)

OpenStudy (redprince):

is there any other way to solve these equations!!! I solve these equations to find out local maximum, minima and siddle point!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you're not looking for solution(s) to this system? you just want the max/min of these parabolas?

OpenStudy (redprince):

@dplanc yes you are right!
