Hi there, if A is an eigenvector column (1 -1), does it makes a difference if one put the minus on the first element, in the case of solving linear set of differential equations ?

of course. except in the case where the first element 1 is not in the main diagonal of a triangular matrix. that changes one of your eigenvalues.
