HELP! With the restriction x ≠ 2, which of the following is the simplified form of 3 x plus 4 over x minus 2 minus the fraction x minus 8 over x minus 2
\( \color{Black}{\Rightarrow \Large {3x - 4 \over x - 2} - {x- 8 \over x - 2} }\) \( \color{Black}{\Rightarrow \Large {(3x - 4) -(x - 8) \over x - 2 }}\) Can you simplify this?
\( \color{Black}{\Rightarrow \Large {3x - 4 - x + 8 \over x - 2}}\) \( \color{Black}{\Rightarrow \Large{2x + 4 \over x - 2}}\) It's easy to do it now
Idk where to start!
I just started on this subject and my notes are getting me more confused.
I don't think you could simplify this further.
Ohhh maybe that's why I'm confused
lol
\( \color{Black}{\Rightarrow \Large {2x + 4 \over x - 2}}\) You can't go further than this :)
But there must be something missing because my choices are: a. 1 b. 4 times the quantity x plus 3 end quantity over x minus 2 c. x – 2 d. 2 times the quantity x plus 6 end quantity over x minus 2 Wouldn't it be d?
plus 6? How 6?
Those are the 4 choices they gave me, I believe I did something wrong in the multiplying process, I'm not sure. I believe it's D, but I'm not 100% sure..
D is the closest thing
I'll give it a try.. thanks for the help though :)
lol and are you sure it's not \({3x + 4 \over x} - 2\)?
i figured it out!
but i'm pretty sure you're done with the quiz now haha
but for future people: 2(x+6)/x-2
because it's subtracting so it would be 2x+12 on top
