Re: hw E field for dipole. I got an extra term in the taylor series expansion for the y component (3*a^3*r^-5). Is there a reason to ignore this term or did I make a mistake?

a term with r^-5 for E field should be ignorable..but to be sure can you be more specific; perhaps posting your work will help??
