sheila drove 3156 miles for business purposes between january and june. she drove an additional 3678kk miles between july and december. what deduction, in dollars, was she allowed to take?

i thought so. the explanation is that sheila drove 3156 miles from january to june. it charges 50.5 cents that time. so her total expense for january to june is 3156 x 50.5 = 159378 cents or $1593.78

from july to december she drove 3678 miles and was charged with 58.5 cents for each mile so her total expense for that period is 3678 x 58.5 = 215163 cents or $2151.63

to find her overall expense, add $1593.78 + $2151.63 = $3,745.41
