solve for y in both equations to get them in this form: \(\large y=mx+b \)... now you can compare their slopes and y-intercepts

i know the answer is the lines are perpendicular,im just a little lost at how you solve the prob and arrive at this solution.
lines are perpendicular when their slopes are negative reciprocal of each other. y = mx + b m = slope b = y-intercept put them in this form and you should be able to compare easily
