Installation
Install this wireless router near the center of the room. Place the router as high as you can in the room for optimal service. To reduce interference (not connectivity), place the wireless router away from computers, televisions, microwaves, and cordless phones.

A. Connect the router between your computer and modem.


Step 1: Turn off your computer and cable or DSL broadband modem.
Step 2: Disconnect the Ethernet cable that runs from your computer to the modem.
Step 3: Insert the Ethernet cable from your modem into the Internet port on the XBBT872 wireless router.
Step 4: Insert one end of the enclosed Ethernet cable into a LAN (local area network) port on the router and insert the other end into the Ethernet port of your computer.

B. Restart your network in the proper sequence.


Step 1: Turn on the modem and wait 3–5 minutes.
Step 2: Plug in the router cord to turn it on. Wait 1 minute.
Step 3: Turn on your computer.

C. Check the status lights.
Verify that the following status lights are illuminated:


1.power

2.Internet connectivity

3.wireless router

4.LAN should read 100 Mbps speed

If the light is red or not illuminated, ensure that the Ethernet cable connecting the router and computer is securely attached.

D. Get service.


Step 1: Launch a browser, type: http//735.45.2593
Step 2: Enter your name for the router user name and enter password for the router password.
Step 3: View the Wizard set-up. Click continue. Fill in all appropriate information. If you need assistance, see the help box in the lower-right corner of the Wizard application page.
Step 4: To register, the Wizard finishes running and setting up everything then click NEXT to register your router.

You are now connected to the Internet!

1.Make sure that your Ethernet cables are securely plugged into the computer, modem, and router.


2.Be sure to restart your network in the proper sequence:

A. turn off modem, router, and computer
B. turn on modem, router, and computer
Be sure to follow the proper wait times when turning parts on; reference section B for help with times.

3.Make sure that the router status lights are illuminated and indicate proper functioning.
