Problem with posted pictures .Where does theta come from in the answer to problem #2 on the Final for 18.02?

OpenStudy (eujc21):

This is the Problem and the Answer

OpenStudy (eujc21):

Where does\[\theta\] on QP come from

OpenStudy (eujc21):

I meant problem # 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm the theta is the angle made by QOA

OpenStudy (eujc21):

Yes I understand that, what I am wondering is as far as x=r*cos(theta) how does r=a*theta, I don't remember the property.

OpenStudy (eujc21):

Never mind just answered my own question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol yea. Still wondering what you are actually asking about.

OpenStudy (eujc21):

But yeah you're right thanks.

OpenStudy (eujc21):

Look at the answer picture, my question was just trying to figure out why is the theta placed there, but it comes from the previous property, that radius is a*theta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep. its pretty straightforward. Good luck with the rest of your questions.

OpenStudy (eujc21):

Thanks man, final tmw, might as well practice with an MIT exam.
