How much work is done if you lift a 1000 N object up 5 centimeters and then places it down where it began?

I think that there is 0 N of work done because your overall displacement is 0.

yes i agree , lifting up means u did work , places down means gravity did work , rise of potential and then decrease of potential energy, overall is 0
