OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can someone please help I have no idea how to do this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i can give it a try hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you would be a life saver

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wanna say x = 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x+4+b = 17, 3*x-2-b = 17 I solved for x in this system of equations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think timo is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because your trapazoid looks like you just add an unkown amnt to reach 17 in first line and in second line you subtract unknown amnt from it to reach 17. So set it up as system of equations and you solve for x x+4+b = 17, 3*x-2-b = 17 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you just keep adding

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You just solve the x from the system.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x+4+b = 17 3*x-2-b = 17 solve for x :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the median, 17, is the average of the bases...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i hope it is 8 :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you you both helped sorry my replys were slow! I was working it on my own on my paper making sure I understood

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 was the right answer by the way :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YAY I got it :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for all your help!
