A fish that normally lives in salty water is placed in a tank containing fresh water. What do you think will happen to the cells of the fish?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) The cells might shrink and cause the fish to die B) The cells might swell and burst C) There will be no affect on the cells

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B, since it normally lives in a salty environment, when it is moved into an one which doesn't contain as much salt solute, the water will move into the fish so that its salt level is the same as the fresh waters.
