explain how to graph x + 3y = 9 using the x- and y-intercepts method.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

On the intercepts, the opposite variable is 0. So on the x-intercept, you get y = 0 and vice versa. So by using this, you should get two points. When you make x = 0, you get y = 3. That one point, (0,3). When you make y=0, you get x = 9. Thats the second point. (9,0) Now, draw these 2 points on your graph, and draw the line that unites them! And so you get your graph.

Dont forget that this line should be infinitely long!
