At the Crab Shack, a party of four ordered crab cakes and another party of four ordered shrimp. Their total bill was $31. However, if only two people ordered the crab cakes and one person ordered the shrimp, the bill would have been $12.25. How much was each order of crab cakes and shrimp? *Is There Not Enough Information To This?*

OpenStudy (phi):

4c+4s=31 2c+1s= 12.25 looks like there is enough info.

So how much was each order of crap cakes & shrimp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok Yea I Just Calculated It, 4.50 & 3.25

OpenStudy (phi):

Solve the system of equations. one way is multiply the second equation by -2 (that means multiply every term on both sides by -2). then add the 2 equations. this will give you a new equation with the c (for crab cake) gone. solve for s.

Ok
