How many different ways can the letters in the word “survey” be arranged

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Hmm, there are 6 letters aye?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Say 'aye' if you understand. -.-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aye

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Are repetitions allowed btw?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Good. Now, I have 6 blanks -> _ _ _ _ _ _ And I have 6 letters S,U,R,V,E,Y In how man ways can I fill the first blank? (just the first blank)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@apoorvk That would be a no based on how the question was worded. There's a finite # of letters, none of them are identical. :-)

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Yeah @agentx5 I agree, since they are asking for rearranging, definitely repetitions isn;t possible. I should have seen that.. Thanks!

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

@4everjames do you understand aye?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no lol.. im really confused

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Okay, I have 6 candies, how many ways I can I pick one?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

*ways can I..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or you have a six sided dice, you roll it once, how many possible unique combinations are possible ;-) (hint: how many #'s are engraved on the die?) But I like the candy one :D

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

@4everjames - calm down, this is easy. Just follow me for a moment okay?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):
