OpenStudy (hang254):

Can someone check my answer please? Sandy is constructing a triangle LMN congruent to triangle PQR constructed a segment LN congruent to side PR. She then measured side QR with a ruler and constructed a segment of the same length above and towards the right side of segment LN from point N. What error did Sandy make in this step? My answer: Drawing a segment above segment LN instead of marking a point M

OpenStudy (hang254):

Drawing the segment from point N instead of R. Drawing a segment with a ruler instead of an arc with the compass. Drawing the segment towards the left of segment LN intead of towards the right. Drawing a segment above segment LN instead of marking a point M

OpenStudy (hang254):

@Calcmathlete can you help me please?

OpenStudy (espex):

Assuming she is following the standard instructions, her mistake would have been to use a ruler, instead of a compass, and not making a point on the arc.

OpenStudy (espex):

Based on the available answers I would say yours is correct.
