What is the slope of the line that passes through (0,1) and is parallel to y = 5x + 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't even have to put this into point-slope or anything. When a line is parallel to another, it contains the same slope. Thus in this case, the slope would still be 5
