____________ If you understand elimination, you should know when the signs are different they and they contain the same number,they cancel each other out...so y's are cancel

now substitute 2 in for x in the original problem.. doesn't matter which one, but ill use the top
3(2)+3y=-9
6+3y=-9
-6 -6

3y=-15
y=-5
