find the sum: 1/12 + 3/4 7/12 5/6 2/3 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to find the common denominator (bottom of the fraction). Which is 12. So to get 12 in the denominator of 3/4 you multiply it by 3/3 which gives you 6/12. Then you add them

the 6/12 and 1/12

9/12* sorry, then you add that and the 1/12. which is 10/12, and you can simplify that and get 5/6
