We connect dots with toothpicks in a grid as shown below. If there are 10 horizontal toothpicks in each row and 20 vertical ones in each column, how many total toothpicks are there? (The picture below is to give you a rough idea of what the grid looks like. The picture below is not the actual size of the grid.)

I would think that you would multiply the number of toothpicks in a column by the number of columns, so 20x10, then add the number of toothpicks in a row by the number of columns, again 20x10. Not positive though
