hello..iam in india..my dream is to study in MIT OR IN ANY UNIVERSITY THAT COULD FAVOUR A JOB FOR ME IN CERN...HOW TO GET A SEAT..WHAT EXAMS SHOULD I WRITE...HOW MUCH SHOULD I SCORE FOR LESS FEES...I TOOK MATHS,PHYSICS,CHEMISTRY AND COMPUTER IN MY HIGH SCHOOL...HELP ME?

But if you want to get into MIT or at least a US university, then you should take the SAT, ACT, a couple of Subject tests.(www.collegeboard.com) and a bunch of other stuff would be needed to beef up your application.

Hello, and thanks for your question. So if I am not wrong you are interested in theoretical physics / particle physics. And I must say MIT is a great choice. For admittance into MIT first let me tell you about the standardized test scores of the following tests that you have to send -
1. SAT - (www.collegeboard.org)
2. TOEFL - (www.ets.org)
3. SAT Subject Tests - (One among Biology, Physics and Chemistry ) and Maths is compulsory.

HOWEVER THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR TO GET INTO MIT IS THAT YOU MUST HAVE A GREAT PASSION FOR YOUR CHOICE OF SUBJECT AND YOU MUST PROVE TO THEM THAT AN MIT EDUCATION WILL BE GREAT FOR YOU.

HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF, HAVE CONFIDENCE......REMEMBER IN INDIA YOU GET A CHANCE BY HOW WELL YOU PERFORM IN THE TEST BUT THERE THEY WILL JUDGE YOU HOW YOU ARE FROM THE INSIDE.

May I know in which grade are you in?

MIT is a good choice. You may also try out Harvard, Yale, Texas.
But the standardized tests you have to give for it are:
SAT or ACT,
TOEFL

If you get High scores in SAT then only you may get full time scholarship from MIT. Even one of my friend has got full time scholarship for Chemistry undergraduate course this year. But every year you have to apply for scholarship.

By the way if you really have interest in physics (theoretical) and in CERN then I will advise you to do your undergraduate degree from IISc Bangalore or IISER or IIT and then go to MIT or similar giving GRE. So then to get IISc, IISER you have to give KVPY exam. IISc is the best place in India.

Dude IITs have much better UG curriculum. The IITs are underrated on the grounds of Research and Patent works..
One should remember getting in a good university never gaurantes placement and not being in a good deprives you of. CERN takes in good scientist and not MITians. It is lot better if you go for MIT in your post-grad and Doctorate.

SO HOW CAN I APPLY FOR IISC SIR...I HAVE NOT TAKEN BIOLOGY IN MY SCHOOL..BUT THE IISER EXAMS HAVE A BIO PAPER...FOR NOW IAM SURE ILL GET A SEAT IN ANNA UNIVERSITY IN CHENNAI...I HAVE PLANNED TO STUDY EEE,SINCE IT DEALS WITH ONE OF THE FUNDAMENTAL PARTICLE ELECTRON..IT ALSO TEACHES ABOUT QUANTUM MECHANICS ...WHICH I LOV TO LEARN..SO I THINK I WOULD GET A POST LIKE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER IN CERN ...OH SURE ONLY IF IAM GOOD AT IT.....THIS YEARS APPLICATION FOR IISC IS OVER..CAN I APPLY NEXT YEAR...BUT IF IAM SELECTED IS IT WISE TO LEAVE ANNA UNIV AND PURSUE A SCIENCE COURSE THERE...????

in 12th satandard you should give KVPY exam in SB/SX stream. Then there you have to attend questions from only three subjects. Then you may choose maths, physics, chemistry so in this way you hav enot to worry for bio.

I FINISHED 12TH STANDARD...I GOT 1162/1200 IN MY BOARD EXAMS...SO ILL GET A SEAT IN ANNA UNIV DEFINITELY...MY CUT OFF IS 198.25

As you have already passed 12th standard exam so its now not possible for you to study at IISc. But still you may give KVPY exam while you are in undergraduate course. Then after clearing the exam you will be eligible to get scholarship and also you can attend various summer camp and can do innovative project under DST.

By the way in IISC ar IISER you will not get BSc degree or MSc degree. There you will get BS and MS degree which is differnt than BSc and MSc.
