how power illuminates a problem. 

well power is authority, and with authority, you can change things make things better, or wreck and destroy it. you can take any example. ummm hitler: he had power and he killed a bajillion people. BUT he also saved germany from their huge debt. 


So Hitler, with his power, saved Germany from the debt they had to pay after WW1, but then he also killed thousands and thousands of jews. 

for good purposes, take Martin Luther King. He was an African America who was living in america during the discrimination between the "whites" and the "blacks". There was a huge problem between inequality, and he gained power through speaking the truth. and he is still remembered for that.
