if x-a is the factor of the polynomial x3- mx2 -2xax + xa . than prove that a = m+x and a is not equal to 0

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

is (x-a) is a factor, that means, 'a' is a root of the polynomial. So, f(a) = 0 So substitute 'a' in place of '0' in the equation of the polynomial, and equate it to zero. Solving it, you'll get what you need to prove!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and how to prove that a = m+x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plz help

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

a = m + x?? this is senseless because 'x' is a variable, and 'm' and 'a' are constants, so, how can a constant be a sum of a constant and a variable?? Looks like a typo or a misprint.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no no u are incorrect x,m and a are variables
