Bridget has a kitchen canister, in the shape of a cylinder, which holds flour. If the canister is 24 centimeters wide and 26 centimeters tall, what is its approximate surface area in terms of pi? 624π square centimeters 1,248π square centimeters 912π square centimeters 1,296π square centimeters

trying to do all your homework here nurse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no this is not homework. and i just need the formula. ill do my work myself

This of it this way, two circles plus a rectangle that wraps around the perimeter of the circles once. One complete rotation is 360 degrees, or 2π radians. A radian the angle equal to one radius length. Length = this 2π radians, so 2π radius Rectangle area: Length * Width So... add two circles which is an area of πr\(^2\) each S.A. = (2πr\(^2\)) + (2πrh)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pi x r(square) x h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO @Yashhere , that's volume! Check you units!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your* units

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Area is in units squared, volume is in units cubed. She asked for surface area.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@LivForMusic , FYI: r = radius, h = height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does this make sense to you both as to why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i got it thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thanks
