Using complete sentences, explain how to graph x + 3y = 3 using the x- and y-intercepts method.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the x-int, set y=0 and solve for x. Likewise, to find y-int, set x = 0 and solve for y. Put those points on the coordinate plane. Next, find the direction of the graph by figuring out its slope. Remember, a positive slope means the graph will climb (like an airplane taking off). A negative slope means the graph will be pointing down (airplane landing). Hope this helps.

Note: to figure out the slope, be sure to always put the equation in the form of y = mx + b.
