What is the volume of the composite figure? A-54 yd^3 B-78 yd^3 C-114 yd^3 D-144 yd^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Volume of a Pyramid + Volume of a rectangular prism = Total Volume

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the compostite figure above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay so i just have to add them and not do anything else to them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\large \frac{(Base_{area})^2(height_1)}{3}\) + L*W*H\(_2\) = total volume in units\(^3\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Careful though, there's the height of the pyramid, and the height of the box under it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you're trying to find volume of both shapes combined, then yes that's addition. :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Write units next to all your numbers, you should see everything come out as cubed units as you go about doing the arithmetic. Always remember the units! :-D Got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and for here, unit = yd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep thanks and here is a medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yay a cookie! ;D
