Please Help!! Use the following statement to complete the given questions. If my mom has to work, then I babysit my little sister. a. The contrapositive of the conditional statement is b. The inverse of the conditional statement is c. The converse of the conditional statement is d. The hypothesis of the conditional statement is e. The conclusion of the conditional statement is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, you do realize the original statement is p -> q right? I'm asking to see how to answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright. a. Contrapositive = ~q -> ~p b. Inverse = ~p -> ~q c. Converse = q -> p d.Hypothesis = p e. Conclusion = q

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So this one is a Conditional Statement?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks a lot

np :)

If I babysit my little sister, then my mom has to work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this would be Inverse, right?

OpenStudy (hunus):

That would be the converse.

OpenStudy (hunus):

The inverse would be if my mother doesn't have to work, then I don't have to babysit my little sister.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I'm late, but when the symbol ~ is in front of p or q, it means to negate it. FOr instance, ~p = If my mom does not have to work. If the order of p and q are switched, then you switch the order of the statements.

Ok I understand now.. thank you
