seems to me it's more of an excercise in your eyesight than your brain...

f(2)=4, so f(f(2))=f(4)=8. That means f(f(f(2)))=f(8)=-8, f(f(f(f(2))))=f(-8)=64, f(f(f(f(f(2)))))=f(64)=1, f(f(f(f(f(f(2))))))=f(1)=2
