hey everybody im learning how to do EXPONENTIAL GROWTH and im having a problem on how to find the value for t= does anybody understand how to fing to value after t=0? please i really would love some help .

OpenStudy (phi):

can you post a specific question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a countries population in 1991 was 26 million. In 1991it was 28million . Estimate the population in 2006 using exponential growth formula. Round your anwswer to the nearest million. :/

OpenStudy (phi):

can you fix the numbers? you have 1991 26 million and 1991 28 million.

OpenStudy (phi):

to do this problem I will assume the 2nd statement says 1992 28 million So, when you see the phrase "exponential growth" think the following formula: P=a(1+r)t where r is the rate of growth and t is the time. We need to find a and r . Here P is population in millions t will be years from 1991 (the first year we know the population.)
