for the 2008 course, below the videos is a 'transcript' tab - the transcript is there and a link to a pdf of the transcript

i was wrong anyway the internet archive 2008 lectures are not captioned but the videos on the ocw site are

hmm that's unfortunate - i used those captions myself when i had the volume turned down low - i thought the SC courses were supposed to be more geared to independent learners, not less

Underneath the screen, there are some tabs. One of those says "transcript". This will show the complete transcript, so you can follow along while watching the lecture, or download it.
BTW, next to the transcripts tab is a tab that says "Related Resources" - if you haven't been reading the code (under "Handouts") you may want to go back and do these lectures again, this time with the code in hand, since you won't have got much from them without it.
