area of triangles = 2 * (0.5*3*4) area of rectangular sides = 4* 8 + 3*8 find hypotenuse of triangle using pythagoras: = sqrt(3^2 + 4^2) = sqrt25 area of 3rd side = sqrt25 * 8 add these areas together to get total surface area
