Write an equation of the line the passes through (-5,8) and (-3,-8)

One second. :)

\[m=\frac{\triangle y}{\triangle x}=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Standard form: 8x + y = -32 Slope intercept form: y = -8x - 32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start with putting your coordinates in that to find your slope. Let (-5,8) be the 1's and (-3,-8) be the 2's. :-)

Then write y=mx+b , input one of the two coordinates for x & y, and solve for b
