Double Sum Question! I need someone to explain the mechanics of one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (blockcolder):

Try putting parentheses in the inner sum, to make everything clear.

OpenStudy (agent47):

First part is: 1/n^2 + 1/n^3 + 1/n^4, etc..

OpenStudy (agent47):

That is a geometric series with ratio 1/r... im really rusty on my calc 2 so KG can correct me if im wrong

OpenStudy (agent47):

So far KG hasn't corrected me so either I'm right or he is rusty on his calc as well.. anyway a geometric series converges if r<1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm kind of having trouble following. Is there a certain order I should be solving this in or a process?

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

As far as I can tell, it's a sum of geometric series, where the first has \(r=1/2\), the second has \(r=1/3\), the third has \(r=1/4\), and so on.
