Hey does anyone know how to find the absolute minimum and maximum for f(x) = 2x^(4/5) on the interval [-4, -3]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

check the endpoints and the point in the interval where the derivative is undefined.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually that point is zero and your interval does not contain zero, so forget that noise and just check the endpoints

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, I just don't know how to solve the f(x) equation once i've plugged in the endpoints, it's some radical

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it is a calculator exercise you are looking for twice the fourth power of the fifth root of -5 not doing that with pencil and paper for sure

thank you!
