What bonds are broken during dissociation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dissociation can be considered any process which involves braking of any kind of bonds, for example combustion... but if you mean dissociation of salt in water then it would be ionic bonds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How about HCl?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HCl has covalent bond and yes dissociation in watter includes breking of its covalent bond...

Thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that means ionic bonds can be dissociates.
