HELP PLEASE. If the triangles are similar, which ratio shows the relationship of the area of the larger triangle to the area of the smaller triangle? 3:2 2:1 3:4 4:1

OpenStudy (sarahc):

OpenStudy (ganpat):

Area for the triangle is given by: 1/2 * b * h.. so if u take raito of larger to smaller triangle = (6 * 4)/ (3 * 2) = 4:1.. option D..

OpenStudy (sarahc):

okay, thanks! for some reason I got 24:6 .....1/2 (6)(4)=24 & 1/2 (3)(12)=6

OpenStudy (ganpat):

yes u r right.. as u want raitos of two triangle.. divide 24 by 6.. So thats eventually 4:1...

OpenStudy (sarahc):

Ohhhhh, duh. okay thx

OpenStudy (ganpat):

ma pleasure...
