Could some explain how to do this step-by-step please..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you count the distance from (-3, 2) and (3, 2), you get 6 units. If you count the distance from (-3, 6) and (-3, 2), how many units do you get??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Trexy Are you there?

OpenStudy (ganpat):

Perimeter for Triangle = a + b + c , i.e. sum of all sides.. so from the graph.. 1. AB + BC + AC = perimeter for triangle.. 2. Name the points, A as (x1, y1) B as (x2 , y2 ) and C as (x3, y3) 3. Find AB, AB = \[\sqrt{(x2-x1)^{2} + (y2- y1^{2}) }\] 4. Similarly find for AB and AC... 5. Put them together in step 1.... and Bingo !!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im here.. Im trying to read the steps how to solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AB is four units long and BC is 6 units long. Use the pythagorean theorem. a^2 + b^2 = c^2 4^2 + 6^2 = c^2 16 + 36 = c^2 52 = c^2 7.21 = c That's your answer! :)

OpenStudy (ganpat):

substitute the value of x1, x2, y1 and y2 in step 3.. here x1 = -3, y1 = 6 and x2 = -3 and y2 = 2.. try finding AB.. u will understand for BC and AC.. or else m here..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i found a site and I put the same thing and the answer is 12.0 this is different right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Ganpat

OpenStudy (ganpat):

well, You have calculated area.. The figure says... Look carefully..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. thanks

OpenStudy (ganpat):

did u understood, how it shd be solved ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

JB said 4^2+6^2=c^2 how did he got that.. @Ganpat

OpenStudy (ganpat):

if u look the co-ordinates, then follow this steps, 1. For line AB, consider y co-ordinates, as x does not changes.. so the length AB = 6-2 = 4 2. For Line BC, Consider x co-ordinates, as y does not changes, So length BC = 3- (-3)= 6 3. Hypotanious = BC2 = AC2 + BC2 = sq rt of (36 +16) = sq rt (52) = 7.211 So that was the dimension of Hypotaneous..

OpenStudy (ganpat):

So the Perimeter will be, = ab + bc + ac = 6 + 4 + 7.2 = 17.21.. rounding to nearest figure..

OpenStudy (ganpat):

gotta ????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So for this one, I have to use distance formula too right? ifor this one i got 6.40

OpenStudy (ganpat):

1. Fox X name points x1 and y1 2. For U name points x2 and y2 3. Use above mentioned formula.. \[\sqrt{(x2−x1)^{2}+(y2−y1)^{2}}\] U give a try for this, i will message u answer..

OpenStudy (ganpat):

answer would be, 6.40.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I go 6.40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if you round 2 decimal places 9.05535138 it would be 9.06 or 9.10

OpenStudy (ganpat):

it would be 9.05 only.. for the figures like 9.05987, the answer would be 9.06...

OpenStudy (ganpat):

anything above five at any place, raise the previous figure by a unit..
