y varies jointly with p and q. When p = 5 and q = 2, y = 80. Find y when p = 4 and q = 5

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

do you know how to represent direct variation?

hero (hero):

I think the function is \(\ y = kpq\)

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

Hero has typed up the equation for you ^^^

hero (hero):

You have to find k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Got it thanks:D

hero (hero):

Okay, I will post the solution. Basically, you have to make two equations based on the function I posted above. The first equation will be used to find the value of k. The second equation will be used to find the value of y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The solution is 160:D I got it

hero (hero):

Oh, okay. Great :D
