the table lists the percentages of households that were 3 person households during selected years 1970 1980 1990 2000 17.3 17.3 17.1 16.6 what was this percentage in 2000 calculate the ave percentage

OpenStudy (zepp):

I don't understand the question.. :| @asnaseer

OpenStudy (vortish):

zepp it is asking you to calulate the percentage during 2000

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

it's a table listing the percentage of households (i.e. families) that had 3 people in them (e.g. married couple plus 1 child)

OpenStudy (zepp):

Well, isn't the percentage written black on white there?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

exactly: the percentage for 2000 should just be read from that table

OpenStudy (vortish):

no that is the percent not the percentage those are different

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

@vortish the table lists, for example, that in 1970, 17.3% of households were 3 person households

OpenStudy (vortish):

yes that is correct it is asking for the percentage for the year two thousand

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

so just read the figure under the column for 2000

OpenStudy (zepp):

http://puu.sh/F7Bp D:

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

do you understand @vortish ?

OpenStudy (vortish):

so the percentage and percent are the same thing asnaseer

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

yes

OpenStudy (vortish):

it also asks for the ave percentage so do you take all four and add them and then divide by 4

OpenStudy (zepp):

Yes.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

exactly

OpenStudy (vortish):

either of you good with scatter plots

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

I haven't done those for years. but just post your question in the list to the left and I'm sure there'll be plenty of people who will be willing to help out.

OpenStudy (vortish):

thanks asnaseer I love this site so many nice people and knowledgeable

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

Oh - I see - well don't worry about being rusty - as long as you are willing to learn, there are many people here who will freely give their time to explain things to you.

OpenStudy (zepp):

Um, I did scatter plots problem :D

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

@zepp is one such example :)

OpenStudy (zepp):

Haha, thanks asnaseer :P

OpenStudy (vortish):
