the measures of the bases of a trapezoid are 14 and 20. what is the measure of the median of the trapezoid?

So, looking at that picture, how long does the median LOOK like it is compared to the two bases?

wouldnt I have to cut 20 and 14 in half and then add those two?

Is that to me... it looks like the median is like, exactly in between the two bases.

Averaged, in other words.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which turns out to be the way that you calculate it. So, if you can look and see that it looks like the average of the two, then you don't have to memorize any formula. Just average the two things =D (20+14)/2
