Can someone please help me? I'm awful at writing. Choose a topic of interest to you and write a paragraph, using verbals and appositives to make your writing lively. Make sure each sentence has at least one verbal or appositive.
What is your topic of interest? Let's start there.
An appositive renames a noun. For example: Jim, a burly man, looked out of place in his tuxedo. In this case, “a burly man” is renaming “Jim.” A verbal is a verb that is written as another part of speech. For example: Written as an adjective - The children, crying and exhausted, were guided out of the collapsed mine. “Crying” and “exhausted” would be the verbals in the above sentence. Written as a noun – Crying will not get you anywhere. In this case, “crying,” is the subject of the sentence.
