so where are you confused here?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
from beginning
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
okay so you have 2x - 3 = 4x - 5
what do you think is the first step?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
dont know
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
hint: put the x on one side only

ok
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
how can you bring 2x from the left to the right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
dont know just tell me how to solve
step by step
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
hint: subtract 2x from both sides..that will make the 2x on the left side become 0 correct?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
dono

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
2x -2x = 0 right?
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
since you subtract 2x on the left side you subtract 2x on the right side too
2x - 2x - 3 = 4x - 2x - 5
0 - 3 = 4x - 2x - 5
so what's 4x - 2x?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
u r wrong
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
how so?
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
2x - 2x is not 0?

lgba is wrong..
Ha ha ha ha..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
so what's 2x - 2x then?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
2x - 2x is not 0?
yes...
Great..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x=1

2-2 is how much?
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
that's the answer later on..i haven't gotten to that part yet @shivraj don't be excited lol
where did you get that anyway?
OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
ya right
answer

thnks
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
like i was saying...
2x - 2x - 3 = 4x - 2x - 5
0 - 3 = 4x - 2x - 5
so what's 4x - 2x?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
More you can do to understand better,
take x common from 2x - 2x : x(2-2) = x(0) = 0
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok
OpenStudy (anonymous):
What is 4x - 2x??
And it is not ok it has some value..

Simply 2??
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
arent you forgetting something?
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
you're close though ;)
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
4 - 2 = 2
so what's 4x - 2x?

Similarly take x common:
x(4-2).
Now tell..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x=2
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
no..not x = 2 it's x(2) <---this can also be read as...?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Great...
(4 - 2)x = ??
OpenStudy (anonymous):
2

you're forgetting something..
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
4 - 2 = 2
so what's 4x - 2x??
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
notice what's chagning...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(4 - 2) multiplied by x = ???
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
let's try this...
4 - 2 = 2
4 apples - 2 apples = 2 apples
4 mangoes - 2 mangoes = 2 mangoes
4x - 2x = ...?

do you get it @shivraj ??
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
hmm he/she closed it..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Not willing to learn..
OpenStudy (lgbasallote):
indeed...i believe our hints were pretty clear...i see no reason why he/she would have quit
OpenStudy (anonymous):
He has not any faith on himself..
