Explain how the formula for area of a triangle is derived from that of a rectangle

Talking about triangles rectangles I agree with the first guy's answer, the formula for triangle is (b*h)/2 and for the rectangle it is b*h, so if you draw a line from the left upper corner to the right down corner, you will have the explanation of why the /2 in the triangle formula
