the first thing i need to understand, i think, is how to iterate the algorithm and print the result of each month... any hints? then i need to be able to combine the elements, perhaps first do the maths with floats and then convert them into strings and print them?

ok, looking at the pythonwiki, I'm now using a while-loop with i += 1. trying to figure out how to reiterate the algorithm for the new values...

Hey man, using a while loop definitely puts you on the right track. You need to figure out a way to see if your fixed monthly payment will put your balance below or equal to zero.
