an electric heater draws a current of 10A from a 220V supply.what is the cost of using the heater 5hrs per day in the month of April if the cost of 1 unit is 2.50

@apoorvk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cn u do it ma frnd?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cn u do it apoorvk

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

okay, hmm. So, Power 'P' = VI so how what is the power consumption?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??????????????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if i knw dt y shuld i ask u ma frnd??????????????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

v=voltage source I = Current Can you find the rate of energy being consumed, that is the power 'P'?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Lol, then know this that Power = Voltage x Current being drawn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hhehheheheheehh ma bulb is fused :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thnk ur bulb is very powerful sooo plzz do it 4 meee

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

then please get a new bulb -.- see, this is a simple formula, please try to get a feel of this! power consumption will be used for finding the no. of units consumed, and hence the cost. and, power = voltage x current = V x I You have both voltage and current stated above! (go through the question very slowly and carefully, this ought to help you)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

v=220 and l=10 is it?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yes yes, simple as that! now multiply!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

220 x 10=2200

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nw wt shuld we do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??????????????????
