So, the main point is that the mean is the sum of all members of the set, divided by 5 (the number of members of the set). You are told that this value is 120. Therefore, the sum of all values is 600, or 120 x 5. You can write the equation that the sum of all those values, including x, equals 600, and simplify from there.
