OpenStudy (karatechopper):

is mining for deep water deposits is just as easy as mining for continental shelf deposits?

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

@zepp

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

I would say false?

OpenStudy (zepp):

^

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

im correct?

OpenStudy (zepp):

It's much more difficult in deep sea, as you need heavy and durable infrastructure to assure nothing fails underwater.

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

oh

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

yeah it's FALSE. The deeper you venture into the ocean, the higher the risks and, and better equipment and technology required for mining stuff. Since the pressure is HUGE, only materials with a very high stress-bearing capacity may be used be prepare these. And the costs, and every other risk increases substanciously.
