Graphing problem, tried to graph and compare but it didn't work. Problem is attached

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hotwire This is very similar. \[y = ab^{x - h} + k\]Horizontal/Phase Shift = -h Vertical Shift = k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, this one would be 3 units right as well! right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, no it would be 3 to the left.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. It would be 3 units to the right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't answer at first because I was graphing it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But in the last problem, (x+3) meant 3 to the right. wouldnt this be the opposite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. If you remember, it was x - 3 and it was 3 units to the right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh geez, I must have asked you the wrong question. The one you helped me with before was (x+3). Does that mean it's to the left?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hold on. It's 3 units to the left. Sorry, typo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. So the answer to this one is 3 to the left, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x - 3) is 3 to the right. (x + 3) is 3 to the left.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Thank you, haha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np :)
